Privacy Policy — Busy Season

Busy Season (“we,” “us”) — a sole proprietorship operated by Hayden Russell — runs busyseason.io and the Busy Season software. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we handle it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to deliver the service, and we never sell personal data.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us — name, business name, email, phone, and details you share when you book a call, submit a form, or sign up.
Customer data you authorize us to process — when you become a client, your past-customer contact lists and job-completion data that you connect or upload, used solely to send review requests and run the service on your behalf.
Connected-account data — data from services you connect (e.g., Google Business Profile, your CRM), accessed only as needed to provide features you enable.
Usage & device data — basic, privacy-respecting analytics (pages viewed, approximate region) to improve the site. We use cookieless analytics where possible.

2. How we use information

To provide, set up, and operate the service (e.g., sending review requests, monitoring and responding to reviews, optimizing a Google Business Profile).
To respond to inquiries, schedule calls, and provide support.
To secure, maintain, and improve the product.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Google user data & Limited Use disclosure

When you connect a Google account, we request only the permissions needed to provide features you turn on (for example, reading and posting reviews and managing your Google Business Profile).

Busy Season’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

We use Google user data only to provide and improve user-facing features that are prominent in the Busy Season experience.
We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger/acquisition with appropriate notice.
We do not use Google user data for advertising.
We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your consent for specific messages, it is necessary for security or to comply with law, or the data is aggregated and anonymized.

You can revoke our access at any time through your Google Account permissions.

4. SMS / text messaging

Busy Season sends customer-care text messages (such as review requests) on behalf of our business clients, to that client’s own past and current customers, based on an existing business relationship. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help.
We honor opt-out requests promptly and maintain suppression lists so opted-out numbers are not contacted again.
We do not share mobile opt-in data or consent with third parties for their own marketing.

5. How we store & protect data

Data is stored with reputable infrastructure providers using encryption in transit and access controls. We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it.

6. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us operate (e.g., hosting, payments via Stripe, messaging providers, email delivery), under agreements that limit their use to providing services to us. We never sell personal information.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may opt out of communications at any time. To make a request, email hello@busyseason.io.

8. Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
